The new Rappville Community Hall has finally opened. It is an amazing venue, a beautiful combination of wood and glass, with high ceilings and a sense of space. A far cry from the old plain wooden building that was the Community Hall, which burned to the ground in the fires that raged through the area in 2019. The metaphor of a phoenix rising from the ashes is more than appropriate.
The opening of the hall creates the opportunity to start teaching Kundalini Yoga close to home. It means reorganising my time, especially since I have been in the habit of taking on every cleaning job that came my way. Up until now I have been sacrificing most weekends to transforming the mundane, and at times down right filthy, into shiny and somewhat new. As close to godliness that cleaning is supposed to bring one, I certainly do appreciate the opportunity to come at it from a different direction.
As a point of coincidence, remembering that in life there are no coincidences, I have completed ninty days straight of an eleven minute practice of Sat Kriya. One of the most powerful kriya's taught by Yogi Bhajan, the Kundalini Yoga master, it uses the mantra Sat Nam. ‘Sat’ in Sanskrit means ‘the truth’ and ‘Nam’ means ‘name’. When chanted together, Sat Nam can be interpreted as ‘Truth is God’s Name. Truth is my essence’. This powerful mantra is used to identify the truth within ourselves and to invoke the divine consciousness that encompasses us. Together with the posture, it works to help the mind and body heal. To make new again.
The anticipated launch of Breath of Fire Kundalini Yoga in Rappville will be the first Sunday in June, the weekend after the Casino Beef Week.
See you on the mat.
Sat Nam
